More strange wibes, from my new "biksi". Drumsamples are mainly from Commodore 64. And 808 thru C-casette player. Very good poor quality innit. Most difficulties were to find those "oh, yeah"- samples. I had to consult few of my fellow musicians and DJ:s and voilá Fanu samurai send me original: "Lyn Collins - Think" cutout, which i then chopped and prosessed drums away. .
Keeping it as analog as possible, using just my laptop of course. First song i made in my new homestudio. Very calm, nice and sensible music indeed .
This sci-fi influenced piece had it´s lyrics from finnish paranormal forum.
Leikkiessäni vasta hankkimallani Reaktor 5. softasynallani, päädyin tämän kappaleen kummalliseen atmosfääriin. Pienin syy biisin moodiin tuskin oli samoihin aikoihin lukemallani Alastair Reynoldsin Sci-Fi eepoksella Jäänpuskijat. Taustojen muotouduttua jäin kaipaamaan vokaaliosuuksia, joiden käsitin pitämän käsittelemän jotain todella häiriytyneitä paranoidisia mielenliikkeitä. Hetken kynää pyöriteltyäni nerous leimahti ja syöksyin internetin limboon. Eipä tarvinnut kauaa hakea, kun päädyin ko. tekstin äärelle, joka on siirretty kappaleeseen sanasta sanaan. Moista runoutta ei pysty suoltamaan, kuin vahingossa! Sylttytehdas
When i was making this kind of ceramic riff to this song, (01:02) my musician friend overheard what I was doing. He immediately burst into laughter and said that I can't never ever make that kind of melodic labyrinth to work. Look who's laughing now!
One night i woke up, because this huge symphonic theme just didn't leave me alone. Whoaa, watch out John Williams!!! I jumped up, opened my laptop, whistled this genious theme in it and went right back to sleep. Next morning I was enthusiastic to hear what kind of masterpiece there is lurking. Oh well. Not exactly what I was hearing in my dreams, but hey I think that it's a decent song anyway.
"His questions is answered when a hideous blob of gelatinous muck oozes out of a crevice toward him" is the full name of this piece. It's named after a comic strip, where spaceman Spiff (From Calvin and Hobbes) is discovering new worlds.
When I read Philip K. Dick's books I imagine music and ambiences that I just have to get out of my head. This is one of those songs.
Blackmode is based on an athmosphere, captured while I was riding my bike in the tunnels under Helsinki. Just add some subs and highs and we have an ambient hit for whales and dogs.
I don't believe in god, so i can't sell my soul to the devil.
All rythmic elements, except heavy breathing, are random samples from free jazz band called "Staalinin Urut" in which I play the bass-guitar. Samples are only few milliseconds long, so they are unrecognisable as musical elements. Very minimalistic indeed.
Clitchy Sci-Fi influenced song, that I named after Philip K. Dick's novel.
I was walking in peace, when gazillions of midle aged women came out from Eva Dahlgrens concert and suddenly surrounded me. They all wore way too much parfume and white denim trousers. I had two choices: To be traumatized, or make therapic song about it.
Little electro-classical pastiss I did to honor William Orbit's Pieces in a Modern Style album. Except I didn't cover for classical composers!
This song actually was ment to be in my other band's ("German Elektroniks") album, but it became too strange piece for that. It's great that we have this thing called internet, where nothing is too weird!
Have you ever heard of this guy called Michael Jackson? Well I got his vocal tracks in my hands. He did like to make strange noises a lot and on the other hand phedophile accusations were on topics in everywhere at the time - What to do???!!! R.I.P.
This is the result of when I played with shepard tones for the first time. Then I got tired of all that academic nysving and let loose my inner clown.
My wife wanted to see romantic movie, so i took her to see Grudge. Nevermind the movie, but the sound design was quite impressive. Especially that sound what über baddie makes was something. By the way I almost threw up when I recorded those rattling noises. Luckily not. It was very expensive microphone.
My friends started a web radio, so i made them something to play on it. There's lot's of sound fx stuff in it wich I recorded on my trusty H2. Toilet seat, supermagnets etc...
Ever heard about Skwee music? Anyhow this is my contribution to the scene.
This electro piece is actually released on German Elektroniks - Elektro Jugent album, but since it's my solo piece I put it here anyhow. I made this song after I heard about all those broblems which are going on in Sweden nowdays.
"Sweet!!! So, what's the catch?" you might ask.
No catch, except maybe some catchy tunes for your pleasure.
All of my earlier releases have sold about 500 copies each, and all I got was this lazy T-Shirt... Wait, hey... not even that, to be honest. And there was no commercial success to been seen with my next album, either. At least that's what some record label suits said, anyhow.
And I really don't give a shit about that. You see, I make my music to myself, and do not want to think about the commercial aspects of it at all. That's not my job as a composer. It's my job as a producer, sound engineer, and in all the other roles I make my living in, but I don't want to bring any of that to my Possible Apple projects. Just pure music, as it comes out! But I'm still a complacent person in that I like it when people like my music.
So that is why I want to bring my material, free, for you all.
However, if you do like my music, do push that donate button, by all means throw a bone. I promise I won't buy any SUV's or hockey teams. My purchase will be more like a bottle of good red wine, food, flowers to my wife, microphone cable, and other such inspirational things.
Oh, and a thing or two about copyrights and stuff. I made this music, so obviously I own all the rights. Plain and simple. I don't want to patronize you, my friends. You know what's right and what's not. If not, just ask me and I'll tell you more.
So it's ok to digg it and even share it with your friends, if all you get from it is immaterial, like kisses, hugs, smiles, thumbs up, and all that kind of fun stuff.
If you want to release my music, or use it for commercial purposes, e-mail me and we'll talk more about it.
And if you want my music in uncompressed, pristine quality, type up an a e-mail, and we can figure out how to get you a CD.
